Uninstall Mars and reinstall to get a fresh start?

I seem to have some sort of problem since I can not get the Factory template to work.
I am pretty sure that I did get it to run earlier.

I tried starting new projects with both Unity 2019 and 2020.
Tried deleteing the Mars package and downloaded again.
Even uninstalled all versions of Unity and reinstalled.
Deleted the Unity files in Appdata.

  • Still got the same problem…

That is all I could think of.
Is it something else I can do?

hello @dweeh ,

could you elaborate more on how the Factory template does not work?; it doesnt load?, do you get console errors?.

Also, could you please mention which version of mars are you using, what OS are you running MARS and what platforms are you targeting?

Hello @jmunozarUTech

On Windows 10

Starting a new Unity project with 2019.4.16f1 - 3D template

Importing the MarsUnityPackage 1.2.0
I get 4 warnings

Before starting the Factory Training Template in the Factory simulation environment I see a huge UI screen

After pressing Start - I can see some UI objects

When the image marker at the machine is detected all the UI are visible at once

I tried on another project earlier to convert the materials to Universal RP and also manually switched some occlusion shader to some other occlusion since it was still pink.
I can not find it again
Can that have messed things up?

In this new project, I did not change any other settings - I just followed the instructions on the Getting Started page.
Getting started with Unity MARS | Unity MARS | 1.2.0.

Hello @dweeh

Couple of things, Simulation view markers will match immediately if you are not in device view mode; hence all markers showing up.

If the UI is set to 2D, you will see that big giant UI thing in the environment and with regards to the pink shaders; you are correct it has to do with changing your materials to/from URP.

Ok… But the change to URP was in another project - should that affect all projects from that point?

It shouldnt; can you please post a screenshot of the inspector for those pink materials ?

Also, which version of Unity are you using in this case.

Can you also try downloading the package again for MARS and giving it a try on an empty project?.

I assume you are using MARS 1.2, correct?

This is Device Mode - or?

@dweeh

I think I already tried to downloaded the Mars package again - but I will try that again just to make certain.

This new project is 2019.4.16f1 - 3D template

try it out, if still no luck, please post a screenshot of the inspector for the material so we can see what type of material you are using for the selected the pink gameobjects

No, it is still the same.
Same warnings - same result

Oh - I think it was like this the first time I saw it too…
I did change it to some other occlusion shader then - but I guess that is not it then.

I think I might know what’s your issue since you mentioned you are in the factory training template.(I thought the issue was with the factory environment).

To fix this you will need to reinstall the templates, not the MARS package. Could you try reinstalling the package?
Follow this:

Let us know how it goes

Yes - Mars 1.2
When I say that it used to work - that might have been with the old version of Unity Mars during my trial period.

Just press the “Import again”-button in Package Manager?

Did that - no change.

Try removing the Sample templates first and click the “import again” button.

The sample templates should be located in Assets/Samples/Unity MARS/1.2.0 (or something among the same lines)/MARS Sample Templates
Remove the MARS Sample templates and try reimporting.

Quick thing; you are not in URP correct?

No, I used the ordinary 3D template.
I get the same result in URP though.

The warning about the AssetDatabase Refresh can not have anything to do with it?

Will delete and reimport

Deleted this file - Reimported - The same result.

@dweeh also forgot to mention, to not show the UI issue, please set the select type and set it to Environment (Instead of Content as you have it)
