you allways need internet to activate it, it checks on the server.
you can reinstall unity, and use the same code you got and activate it.
and where i can find that code ?

In the e-mail you got from unity when you bought the license. If it’s a free one then what does it matter? Just download a new copy.
yes if you bought a license, keeping that license in a safe place would be a good idea, if you don’t have it anymore you need to contact UT.
