My missus is planning our annual holiday and is mulling over various European destinations with a Europe tour… Was just wondering if you had an insight into whether it’ll be Europe-side this year so I can silently move her destination to that (and make it seem like it was her decision!)

My wife wishes the next Unite is again in San Francisco. We’ve been so many times now in Copenhagen that she likes more to go to the US again. 
But yes, I hope for an early place and time decision too to be able to plan accordingly and book cheap flights.

I think Copenhagen rocks for the Unite (even though S.F. also was pretty cool). Personally, I hope the “one year US, one year Europe rule” still applies (Martin, I think you need to make sure to only go to Copenhagen for the Unite to keep things in balance … or … well … maybe Copenhagen is not the only European city that could host the Unite?)
I heard on last Unite a whisper about Amsterdam…
I look forward to learning where Unite will be this year as well.

The early planning stages for Unite 2010 are underway but we don’t yet know the location. Yes we’ve done the SF-Copenhagen-SF dance so far, and at Unite '09 there were many whispers about various locations (my favorite? RIO!), but nothing is definite just yet. So hang tight, we’re working on it so we can announce the location earlier than ever to let y’all plan accordingly.
I have my doubts that it would help to be productive and focused and it would definitely qualify for the “A.O.T.W.” award
Looking forward to hearing… Got fingers crossed that it is Europe (don’t mind where) or I’ll have to miss this year too.

Talk to Jessica at Casual Connect about their old Amsterdam setup. They used a smaller venue, but should be about the right size for Unite '10!

Failing that you could all come to my house and drink Guinness! (i’m already having visions of those parties where someone advertises on Facebook (or similar) and the place gets truly wrecked!)

Chill out folks, we have host cities already in mind and are simply finalizing things. Just hang in there as we definitely want to announce a date/location ASAP.
And yes, we now have an office in the UK fallingbrickwork but that doesn’t meant that the UK is in the running.
In any case, Unite 2010 will rock … I’ve heard rumors that potentially, under very specific circumstances (you know, depending and the moon, the sun and the stars and stuff), Unite 2010 might be the time of Summer!?

@zerofractal: for other reasons (promotion of Unity in non-gaming circles) I may be down in Colombia some time later this year…
For those interested in Unite 2010, we hope to have some sort of information in April or so, at least a date/location so folks can start making plans as early as possible. After that will come things like session material, possibly a call for speakers, news of any contests to go along with it, etc.
For now we’re trying to recover from GDC, and in my case preparing for vacation (see my signature ). Rock on y’all!
