Sup clowns,
We’re getting a few bug reports of what sounds like a guitexture not turning off (they can still use the interface under the loading screen). The code was written a while back, using Unity 1.5.1 and even versions prior to that.
It’s full of ‘UnityEngine.Component.active is obsolete’… Yet it still works. Is it possible that it won’t work in some circumstances?
I ask because we’re totally unable to replicate the bug…
It turns out the problem only seems to exist on pre 3GS devices, which me thinks its a memory concern. As is fairly common when you start something small and build gradually over months, the scene in question is not built with memory constraints in mind (it’s just a few gui textures… by ‘few’ i mean ‘lots’).
The app appears to keep working underneath the guitexture, almost like the renderer has just died but the app functionality continues
So, I blew away about 1mb of ‘stuff’ that was being allocated, hopefully that will solve the problem (keep in mind - we were totally unable to replicate the bug).
