Does anyone know if Unity will be able to work w/ XNA so that we can develop for Xbox?

Probably not. But since Unity now uses DirectX for Window builds, I could see the possibility of there being a Xbox 360 version of Unity like there will be for Wii.
Thanx for the reply. I think this would really be a great feature if someone were to create the bridge. I read something about Unity and Wii before and was wondering where to get more info on that. Any links that you know of that could shine more light on the Wii and unity?
Sure would be nice to develop for Xbox though.

There isn’t any public info on the Wii port of Unity, except that’s it’s being made.
Well that it is good to know. I’d expect sometime in the future that someone will work w/ Unity and Microsoft to develop a port for Xbox because that would really open this game engine up to an even larger market.
I guess for now the best thing to do is develop for the web and pc and get good at that and by the time we master Unity 2 a means for exporting to consoles will come.
Thanks for the replies.

I always find it funny to see why everybody wants to develop for console.
Personally I do prefer to develop for PC/MAC
I don’t have to ask anyone permission to release my game.
I can keep all the money which the game makes.
I have very little costs since I can create my cd-roms at maybe $0.20
So unless you have a company with a lot of money to invest, I guess it will be difficult to compete.
OK, there are channels announced where users could download your game into their console, but still then you’ll need to be sure you get a slot in that channel and thats also very hard.
To the ones who want to try this → good luck.
As David (dbolto) has sussed out already there are no current public plans on XBox support, it’s all about the Wii effort for now. We’ll be looking to expand our platforms as necessary to continually increase your range of deployment options, so other consoles/OSes/devices are things that we do discuss internally. Sorry but the Wii effort is still a WIP and those that want more detailed info can always contact us via sales@unity3d.com and we can take up the conversation there if desired.
The short public answer: it’s still under way, it requires you to become a Nintendo Auhorized Developer (http://www.warioworld.com), then you’re ready to start working with us…
