Hello there, I am using Unity 2.6 for a game I am making but as you all know Unity 2.6 is very buggy and slow. So I want to get Unity 3.1 to advance this project. But I want to keep Unity 2.6 for simpler games I want to make. So how can I keep Unity 2.6 and have Unity 3.1 at the same time?
sure, if you are on osx just rename the folder, on windows install it into a different folder
Eh? No it’s not. Unity 3 is buggier at this time, and while it’s generally somewhat faster, 2.6 is hardly what I’d call “very slow”.

Where would I find these folders? I’m using Windows so can you please just give me a step by step instruction because I’m not getting it. It may seem simple but it’s actually not.
on windows, you don’t have to rename anything, just install U3 into a different folder than the default one it suggests
We all know that? I didn’t :S (Unity 2.x certainly doesn’t seem any ‘buggier’ or ‘slower’ than 3.x to me…)
Implying that Ignorant kid’s ‘bugs’ are really from his buggy programming and his Pentium 3 Computer.
Seriously, you want to be a game developer and can’t navigate to an installation directory?
For windows (anything) 32bit computer
C:\Program Files\Unity
For windows (anything) 64bit computer
C:\Program Files (x86)\Unity
Just rename that folder to Unity2 and make/keep the shortcut of that unity on your desktop.
Now when you install Unity 3, it will be in
C:\Program Files\Unity
and your Unity 2 will be
C:\Program Files (x86)\Unity2
I hope this helps if you haven’t found this out already by now.
Quite the contrary…
