Hi,
I’ve seen a lot of threads on the subject, but we have a special case. The difference is that a clean build (without the Library folder) is bloated. And then, after a few builds, the build size may return to normal.
Updating from Unity 2020.3.48 to 2021.3.29
iOS/Android
Tried with Addressables 1.19.19 and 1.18.19
Faced with a floating build size. The size is either normal, or it swells by 20-30mb.
The problem manifests itself intermittently. After deleting the Library folder, the build size is always bloated. Then, after a few builds, the size may be normalized.
Relevant for both ‘ipa’ and ‘apk’.
The size floats, even if you build artifacts from a single commit.
I unpacked the apk and looked at the contents of the bundles. In the bloated version, a file with a ‘.resource’ extension of 26mb appears inside the default bundle. See the screenshot.
Is there any way to control this?
With Unity 2020, and before, this behavior never happened. The project has been in production for 4 years.
What other information should I provide?
For understandable reasons, I can’t send the company’s project.
