Unity 2023.1.0.*

I honestly question alot of what I’ve been witnessing with Unity over the years despite community feedback on the forums, this new change surprised me… the title bar in a beta version no longer shows the specific beta version number?

I’d love to know the reasoning behind this change, was there a perfectly valid and reasonable board meeting that went on for hours that came to conclusion that why wouldn’t we waste people’s time even more than we already do…

now when Unity’s crashed or something is broken in the editor… instead of just seeing the exact version number… well we won’t… thanks

That sounds like a bug. Do you have a screenshot of it?

That is weird, that is not what I see (after installing that version from the hub). Are you able to reproduce this in an empty project? I am wondering if something in your project could be causing it.

From where did you install the editor? I used the hub and it shows the correct beta version.

new project, installed from hub…

Yeah, this has been bothering me for some time too (installed from the hub):

I was able to reproduce this and identify the change that caused this to start happening. I’ll raise it to the team who changed the behaviour as I believe it is not an intentional change.
