Unity 2d Animation Question

I have a character exported in a .PSB file with layers for each part, Unity pulls it in perfectly, but the character has some extras like a gun, a rifle and a second head where he is grimacing. When I go into the editor I would like to only use certain pieces for specific animations, however it looks like I have to put the character together in Photoshop so everything is lined up and then pull the character in. Am is missing something?, I would like to unity to have the extra pieces and then I can animate pulling a gun, or the rifle and grimacing when firing a long burst. I can create separate characters, each with a different face and try to stitch them together, but that seems like a whole lot of extra work.

I did look at a number of videos on the editor, but didn’t see anything like this being done.

I can buy something like Spriter, but I’d like to keep this in Unity and use the Inverse Kinetics.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi! An early preview of the Sprite Swap feature is available in the 2.2.0-preview.1 version of the 2D Animation Package. You can test the feature on 19.2, and it may help to achieve the specific animations and use of different weapon Sprites you want to do.

Sprite Swap is still very early in develop and a second draft of this feature is coming soon to 19.2 and 19.3, but for now please try it out and let us know of any feedback you have on the [Preview package thread.]( 2D Animation v2 - Preview Packages page-6)

Thank You, I will go pick it up and play with it…
