Unity 2D Graphics with Adobe Photoshop CC

Hi, I am trying to create game graphics for Unity 2D. I have heard many good things in regard to game graphics and environments created in Photoshop. I know the Broken Sword game series began with graphics from Photoshop which seems rather simplistic to create, in regard to Blender. Is there however another alternative to Photoshop for Unity 2D graphics? Additionally, if I did create game graphics in Photoshop, would I have to use JavaScript in Unity in order to use the graphics crated in Photoshop? My game scripts in Unity are always in C#.
Here is an example of the art style from Goddess Chronicles with Unity and Photoshop CS6.

Thank you!

Graphics are just that: Graphics. You can use Photoshop or even free alternatives such as GIMP - it’s up to you and your wallet.
