Unity 2D zoom in editor

This is getting REALLY freaking annoying.

While I am editing my levels in 2D mode, I zoom in so I can see the fine details better, but when I get too close, everything disappears. I can see absolutely none of the sprites and things I have placed into the scene.

It used to not be so bad, but now that threshold is a lot closer than what it sued to be, and I have no idea why. If I am just zoomed in a little closer than what the game plays at, everything will disappear and I can’t see anything until I zoom back out.

Double-click on an item to zoom in on it, so the view bounds are assigned to that object.

You can press ‘F’ too I think, which does this to the currently selected object.
