Im back from Berlin where I visited the *Droidcon 2010*, a great *Google Android* conference. My personal highlight of yourse was the presentation of Unity 3.0. Tom showed us a demo of an action game on his Android based device running smooth as hell, so I just cant wait to summer. 
I also had the chance to talk to Andy, who is a very smart and communicative guy. Thank you guys - you made my day!
Any word on whether Unity 3 can freely publish to Android, or will I need a special license?
I would guess there’s a 99% chance it will be similar or identical to the Unity iPhone licensing.

Unfortunately I dont have any informations about it because I had to leave the conference before the discussion started, but Im pretty sure too that it`s similar to the iPhone. Maybe there will be a special double license for Android iPhone, because you can export the same game to both systems with just one click.

It was made clear that the announcement of Unity Android does not stand in relation to Unity 3.
That means that it is not projected to needfully happen in the same timeframe, can thus be earlier or as it relies on unity 3, potentially also be quite a bit later till it happens.
so it can basically be anything from 2 to 5 months (“end of summer”) till we will know more about it.
So far the information were not scarse but aside of “we are working on it” inexistant.
Waisenknabe, you’re saying they are talking about a release possibly in 2-3 months for Unity Android, separate perhaps from the desktop 3.0? Thanks for any clarification, looking forward to Android support ASAP!
It was confirmed that the additional announcements (PS3 - Android in work) is not in relation to Unity 3 and the happening of them runs independent of Unity 3.
What we know is that UT is working on Unity for these platforms but thats basically it aside of the “showing off” at events (none of these informations are shown on the board or website in written or media based form)
