Unity 3.0 cloth demo: Tennis Balls

Justed wanted to show off a little demo I made the other day with Unity 3.0 and the new cloth physics. Fun to play around with. This demo also plays back mod music and makes webplayers extremely small.

Enjoy!

I still haven’t gotten around to playing with the new cloth physics yet, looks so cool though. Two questions:

Can you do 2 sided cloth? I’m thinking about something like a basketball hoop net, so it would need to be 2 sided, diffuse, and cookie-cut alpha. Do-able?

Also, any ideas how you’d grab the fabric and rip it? You’ve done some nice “shoot holes through the fabric” demos, do you think a “grab and rip” would be do-able too?

1+2) No idea.

What-do-ya-know! Marvelous.

So how is that 2-sided cloth done? I’ve been wondering the same ever since cloth was added.

You need to use a 2 sided shader. Ive been using the leaf shader from the terrain engine.

Jakes back! I’m going to have to put aside some time to try this. You guys are getting me excited about this stuff.

lol
