Unity 3.3.0 won't start up.

When I first installed Unity 3.3.0, it worked perfectly. When exit the program, and start it back up again, I get the bug reporter coming up saying that Unity had crashed when it clearly happened. I tried starting Unity up again and again but the same thing keeps happening - this is what comes up.

Bug Window

Any suggestions?

When I first had this problem my OS was Windows XP SP2, I have just upgraded to SP3 and I am still having the same problem as before.

Here is a list of things I have tried, I will be updating this as I try new things.

  • Holding ALT while Unity is loading.
  • Moving the Unity Bug Reporter file.
  • Deleting the Unity files in the Application Data folder.
  • Removing the Unity files in the My Documents folder.
  • Upgrade my OS to Windows XP SP3.

I have finally found a solution to my problem. I changed the compatibility settings for Unity to Windows 2000 and it now works!

I would like to thank Statement for helping me out too. Although his suggestion didn't work, he still helped out and I would like to thank him.

I hope this helps anyone else who has the same problem as I do.

It's possible to create assets/scripts that crash the editor, and the editor attempts to load the last loaded project upon launch. Hold down ALT while starting the editor to see if you can get past this problem. It will ask you what project to load, or if you want to create a new project.
