Has anyone had any problems using Unity 3.3 and Xcode 4?
Conversely, does anyone have any stores of success about using these two tools?

i don’t think they are compatible, i’ve been trying for the past few hours without much luck
What I have gathered from reading the forums is that it works. Look around, this has been asked many times.
yes, i see people able to use it… and i’m on this thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/80573-iOS-4.3/page2?highlight=xcode4
somehow, changing something, people get it to work. As to what they change? I haven’t been able to figure it out yet. But out of the box, it won’t work.
oh, and if you compile for 4.3 it seems that GUI stuff will slow your game to useless. At least that’s what I saw on the thread.
All I know is that Unity is working on it. A patch soon would be greatly appreciated since I’m on hold until xcode4 support is added
Alternatively, anyone knows if there is a way to roll back to an older xcode sdk version?
I haven’t had a single problem with sdk 4.3 and xcode 4. It builds and runs with no problems on ios basic. I have also tested with leaving the build target at ios 4.2.
lionskin, you just build run and compiles into device?
on that thread, even Unity said that they are working on a “fix” and to stick to xcode 3.x meanwhile :?
From my end, I tried build run and then I got a whole bunch of missing files and compile errors, even with “replace folder” or removing the whole xcode project folder and let it rebuild by itself. I’m using xcode 4.0 btw, not sure if 4.0.1 works.
Also the options for “landscape mode” “status bar” and so on, are not included on the xcode project settings for what I saw.
@Tylo See this thread regarding issues: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/83076-iOS-4.3-App-Rejected I have no doubt that the Unity team will have a fix in store for us soon. The alternative solution now is to install XCode 3 which supposedly works like a champ. I have been running basic tests here using Unity 3.3 with XCode 4 and it’s been great given the fact that I’m not deploying anything for the next 1-2 months.
@creat326 On developer.apple.com you can still download and install the Xcode 3.2.6 and iOS SDK 4.3 (Disk Image). Just look for the little Download link at the bottom of the image shown below.
@creat326, Yup on 4.3.1 devices, even on devices with ios 4.2.1 installed, using xcode 4, Builds, runs, profiles, deploys the whole shabang.
Wiered how its not working for others.
Have you tried uninstall xcode, reboot, install new xcode, reboot. And Clear all provisioning profiles (reinstall into new xcode).
Actually. just tried with Unity 3.1 and everything is fine. (Xcode4 / SDK 4.3)
If you can downgrade to 3.1, things should be OK. I imagine this is a bug in 3.2 / 3.3
