Unity 3.4.0 crashes when i try to run it

i just updated Unity to the last 3.4.0 version, and now i can´t run it . i got a Windows message that say that “Unity Editor had a problem and must to close”.

i have Windows XP Home SP3, AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 1.5GB RAM, Geforce 7600GS 256MB.

i updated the Nvidia drivers but continues equal…

any help please?

I have the same problem. Unity 3.4f5 crashes when I start it up and claims editor had a problem.
I have tried to reinstall several times.

I checked the event log for my Windows Vista 64bit computer and it reports the following,

I have never had any problems updating previous versions.

Any ideas?
Steve

Try moving your previous projects files somewhere. And try a clean uninstall. By using revo uninstaller. And if it still persists, try to reinstall 3.3 and see if it still persists. File a report if 3.4 is still not working for you. Hope that helps.

Unity 3.4 still crashes after reinstall. Unity 3.3 still works.

Submitted Case #00072459 to Unity.

where i can download Unity 3.3? in the download page only appears the 3.4 version…

Same issue in my old home pc (Windows Xp sp2 - Athlon XP 2400 Ghz - 1GB RAM - Radeon X800 256 MB)

i reinstalled the 3.3 version and it runs fine…but version 3.4 does not work ever…

Well I’m back to this again as well.

When I first installed v3.3, I would get the crash upon startup. It was after reading somewhere that I had to disable Data Execution Prevention in the Advanced System Settings dialog that I finally got it to run successfully.

However now with v3.4, that trick doesn’t seem to work any longer. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I have Unity.exe checked in the list, I even tried adding the development webplayer (it wouldn’t let me add MonoDevelop and a couple of other items in the folder).

I see I also had v3.3 set to Windows XP SP3 compatibility - I tried turning that off and back on again for v3.4, still no joy.

So basically now I’m stuck with a broken Unity install also.

Doesn’t UT test this stuff on 64-bit machines??? - I don’t have this problem when I install Unity on my old 32-bit machine (at least for v3.3, haven’t tried v3.4 yet.)

I have a couple of threads on this. I think you need to entirely disable DEP from even running, not just make a unity exclusion to get it working this time.

There you go. Unity 3.3 for windows

Unity are looking into it, just saw a post from a unity dev

I have the same problem, i use mac, and I heard the Unity is a powerful tool for game developing, so I can’t wait to download and try it, but every time I open it , it crashed, I don’t even have the chance to see the UI of the Unity, everytime I open it, it crashed down over and over again, I don’t even know what’s going on, I found it really sucks, I am trying to find something else. Unity sucks.

yes and the support don´t say nothing about this problem…(and a lot of more problems too…)

the support from Unity developers is really bad and sad…

3.4 is really bad version. Lots of new features, lots of new bugs and almost no fix for old and anoying bugs.

the new version 3.4.1 solve this Bug?

Same issue in my case!

same here, new version on a 64bit win 7 pro.

no, it continues equal…

i don´t know if they are adressing this issue or simply they ignore us…

I upgraded to 3.4.1 yesterday, I also updated my nVidia drivers yesterday.

Now I can’t load my project for some reason, it Unity won’t load it (just exits to Windows) and I get Event ID 1000 error:

I’m on Windows 7 x64. Not sure what is causing the issue yet but I suspect I have to try to downgrade first and see if that solves anything.

Update: Downgraded to 3.4.0 again - but problem remains. Can’t create new projects or load any of my existing ones… My creativity has just taken a real beating.
