Before you go on, here are some tech-specs of my computer.
-Windows XP Home Edition, with SP3
-Intel Celeron 2.60 GHz Processor
-504 MB of RAM
-Old Video and Sound Cards (Forget What They Are, but video doesn’t support pixel shader)
OK, so I downloaded Unity 3.4.2 and when I tried to run it, my computer froze.Well, not really mt computer. If I tried to run it from an explorer window, the process “explorer.exe” would freeze, and if I tried running it from the firefox “downloads” window, firefox would freeze.I tried re-downloading Unity 3.4.2 two more times and I still had this problem.I don’t know if it’s the computer, Unity itself, or what.
Well that’s not really helpful, but I can run some games and stuff fine.
Yeah, it’s my dad’s comp, but I mean, I can’t even get to a start-up screen/splash.It just didn’t load.
Well it says it requires Pixel Shaders, and your card doesn’t support them. You might get your dad to look into upgrading your machine, increase your RAM to 2GB, and maybe you can find an old PCI video card somewhere that would work in it. I bet you could do it if you shop smart for less than $50.
