so… i haven’t been able to find much about this but i was wondering… will the substance shader that’s rumoured to be in the next Unity release be available for indies or just pro users?
If I remember correctly, there’s support for Substance textures. The designer ain’t included (and that’s like 990usd). Rumor has it that Unity free gets it too.
Check this thread (a few posts down) for more:

Full Substance support is coming to both the free and pro versions.
Substances aren’t “shaders”: they’re a new type of material that generates textures foryour shaders. A Substance is parametric (you can think of it as a “texture shader” that produces textures) and can therefore change its texture bitmaps on-demand. Like procedural textures, but on steroids.
In addition to substances (which you can buy as predone packs by the way, no need to buy the designer if you don’t want), there is also Bitmap2Material support coming which is a pretty nice thing on its own
