After upgrading to Unity 3.4 the asset store is not working for me. I’m on OSX 10.6.8, upgrading from a working 3.3 installation (the asset store was working perfectly). The symptoms of the problem are as follows:
I open the asset store via the Window menu the standard “Connecting to asset store” message is displayed within the asset store window for a few seconds before disappearing leaving the asset store window totally blank. Right clicking on the blank asset store window displays the string “Localized string not found” (at the mouse cursors current position).
I have deleted the Unity /library/preferences, this has made no difference.
The log-out menu item (from the top right hand corner of the asset store window) does not function, nether does the reload menu item.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: The asset store is now working, presumably it was a server-side issue.
A few of us using Windows 7 64 bit had issues where Unity would crash when the Asset Store was opened. I wonder if the two issues might be related? I submitted a crash report, perhaps you can submit a bug report so UT can investigate the issue.
You replied to a thread, where the previous post was made in 2011. There are several newer threads regarding that isssue. There are different causes for that. The most common one seems to be caused by the server, some have issues due to DX11.
Anyway, you should have a look at newer threads.
I do know it’s from 2011, still same problem though. I did search the forum for that exact string with no luck (a lot of different problems regarding the asset store yes). I’ll try look for it again, thanks.
