Unity 3.5.1

Hi

I noticed that in prior versions of Unity, when a new project is made, there is a grid shown on the scene viewer, even before a terrain is created. I think the grid represents the entire 3d world.

In this version of Unity however, the grid is not there. Is this a setting that I need to activate to have the grid be visible or is it just the way version 3.5.1. is?
