does anyone have any issue with this version? I cannot seem to create C# , JavaScript or shader. This version does not ship with monodevelop but i google it and download it separately and it still doesn’t work. I’m thinking of going back to 3.0 but before i do i would like to know if these issue can be fix.
Unity does gome with MonoDevelop and if installing Unity with the Unity Install file doesn’t install MonoDevelop then you unchecked that box during the install process or when you attempted to download the Unity Installer from the internet your click was intercepted and you downloaded an altered Unity installer (or something similar to that). If that’s the case you need to clean install your OS.
why would i need to reinstall my OS? Don’t you mean my Unity! I don’t think I have any virus I have the latest AV. Thanks anyway.
If your Unity Installer file doesn’t have MonoDevelop included with it it been tampered with.
Are you sure you didn’t uncheck the MonoDevelop checkbox when you installed Unity?
I install this version from unity site my self and when i install it does not include any monodevelop option checkbox but now that i know this ver has been tamper with i’m going to install the 3.0 just because i don’t have time.
The file for Unity 3.5.6 is for version 3.5.6f4 and is 518,226 KB on Windows.
In the installer you will see options:
Unity (checked and it cannot be unchecked)
Example Project (checked)
Unity Development Web Player (checked)
MonoDevelop (checked)
The last three can be unchecked.
The install on OsX installs MonoDevelop as well but does not ask you which components to install: it installs everything.
It has not been tampered with, and does include MonoDevelop. It’s not really a great idea to use 3.0 at this point, particularly if you’re using mobile, since a number of things are obsolete in 3.0 and much improved on in 3.5. It’s not actually necessary to use MonoDevelop anyway, since you can choose the script editor in the preferences.
