I’m running on Windows Vista 32bit, Nvidia GTX260 video card. Unity 3 crashes on startup after I select a project to load. I can briefly see it creating the main window (blank, gui not visible), and it crashes immediately after, this happens ever time, I have not been able to get it running at all.
I’ve tried:
Loading Bootcamp example project
Starting a blank new project
Importing a simple old 2.6 project
I installed newest nvidia drivers
Tried changing Vista DEP settings
Same results in all cases. I’ve submitted a bug report, but I’m hoping there is a known workaround meanwhile?
P.S. I’ve previously been able to run 2.6 on the same machine without any issues.
I just bought and installed Unity 3 and also can’t run it at all. It crashes as soon as I click the icon. I could run 2.6 without any problems. 13" Macbook unibody running 10.6.4. I also submitted a bug report and I am looking for a workaround as well if anyone has one.
We have had a few similar reports come up on our beta list. One incompatibility we are aware of is the Elgato Turbo USB dongle. This appears to install a component related to QuickTime, and that is known to crash Unity (at least on a Mac). One of our beta testers reported
“Just removing the “Elgato Turbo.component” from /Library/QuickTime was enough for Unity to start. I could even move it back into the folder once Unity was running.”
Not sure if this is the problem in this thread or not, but perhaps people can report back and let us know?
@Dafu - can you let me know the bug report number so I can get it looked into?
I don’t even have Quicktime and I have no idea what Elgato even is, I don’t see anything like that in my Unity folder. Run as administrator also, doesn’t work.
