You lied to me.
You have made a powerful enemy.
It might not arrive until the actual release of 3.0 since some features are still in flux as to whether or not they’ll be included in the Free version.
Make that two.
Define powerful, please. ![]()
You are going on the list.

I think the free version should get to take advantage of the light-mapping, but without real-time shadows and the occlusion.
Free version will have Lightmapping but without Global Illumination.

kk, will we still get ambient occlusion/skylight? and has object occlusion been decided on yet?
umbra was mentioned to be not present in free unity by higgyb so no occlusion system for free users

The skylight is calculated with GI so no. AO? Not entirely sure to be honest as it’s a separate render pass, but my guess would be no.
Even without GI there are a lot of tricks to fake it so good artists should be able to still make some very convincing lightmaps without it.
Umbra Occlusion Culling is going in to Pro only.
How about deferred rendering?
As per http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=55918&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=umbra&start=120&p=342999 from higgyb
"":can you tell me what will be the features of FREE version 3.0? Can I use shadows? And occlusion culling? More?
We don’t have the full license comparison sheet ready but we will have it posted some time before shipping. In general the only feature that’s moving from Pro to standard status is the ability to call native code on the iPhone, that feature is Pro-only today but will be available in both licenses in 3.0. Other than that, real-time shadows will remain Pro-only, occlusion culling will be Pro-only, the lightmapping tools will be in both licenses (Unity free will support direct lighting only, Pro will have direct and bounce lighting), the new audio filters will be Pro-only, deferred rendering Pro-only, debugging will be in both licenses, unified editor in both licenses, scene browse/search in both licenses… We’ll have a complete set of information in a nice, easy to read table format before release so just hang tight.
