Unity 3 Questions (423982)

Hi,

I am a proud (yet not successful) Unity for iPhone licenced user. I have since also received countless emails regarding Unity 3 Beta Previews and have downloaded them but I am a little confused.

  1. When Unity 3 gets release does that mean if I purchase the upgrade to Unity 3 IPhone ($100-$150), is that it? Currently Unity 2.x is free on the desktop, is Unity 3 which is an unified environment) covered in the price above?

  2. I downloaded the beta preview (ages ago) and have not use it and it seems the 30 days have expired. Is this preview a pro version?

  3. if I want to start developing for iPhone/ iPad using Unity 3, what do I need to do?

  1. Unity 3 will have a free feature delta version again on top of which you can get the unity iphone non-pro addon (or upgraded to it), right

  2. such a version does not exist. There is only a beta to people who preordered one of the unity 3 licenses or addon licenses for android / iphone

  3. Upgrade your iphone license to unity 3, otherwise you won’t be able to use the iphone deployment target

Interesting…when I went to the store and decided to then purchase an upgrade of iPhone. I put in my licence number and got this fetching data: “Unity 3.x with iPhone”.

Honestly, I purchased the licence back in June so it seems I have purchased the Unity 3.x licence without realising this.

I have reinstalled it and entered the licence number and WOW, ready to rock n roll and I feel sooo silly.

So do you have a pro license or what?

Because I upgraded my Unity iPhone basic with the same $100 offer (last week) and I got 1.7, not Unity 3.

Frankly, I think the offer text was a bit misleading.
