Unity 3 won't build streamed or standalone pc versions

Hi,

I have just upgraded my project to Unity 3, and it runs ok in the editor, but when I go to build either a web version or a standalone pc version, Unity asks for a folder to build the web version in, or an exe name for the standalone, then once this info is provided, I get a loud “ding” noise from my PC and i doesn’t do anything else.

There appears to be no error messages displayed and I can’t see what else to do next.

Any ideas?

John

Hi,

I have just checked in the application error log and I can see a load of errors like this:

The entry <C:\USERS\JOHN THORNEWILL\DOCUMENTS\UNITY PROJECTS\UNITY PENGUIN PANIC\PENGUIN PANIC UNITY 1.7 (30-09-2010)\GAME FILES\LIBRARY\SCRIPTASSEMBLIES\ASSEMBLY-UNITYSCRIPT-FIRSTPASS.DLL> in the hash map cannot be updated.

Context: Application, SystemIndex Catalog

Details:
A device attached to the system is not functioning. (0x8007001f)

Have you tried different locations for the files created by the build? Is it possible that your target folder is locked or otherwise unavailable?
