actually it is pretty simple:
first write (or “find”) a path finding script - best works here a path finding along a mesh.
second make somethingl like this:
check if object is in range
if yes then find way (yeah the pathfinding…) to the door (a simple trigger should work here)
if collide with trigger → change animation from walking into “sit down” and make a lerp position from player pos to actually seat pos (another trigger or Vector3)
this should work.
addtional:
if player in car start closing door (ik for the hand would look perfect)
if player in car then disable player mesh (optimization)
etc etc it is very easy actually

If you’re completely new to Unity, you might want to start with something simpler than what’s shown in that video. To get started, try the tutorials from the ‘resources’ section of this site; they should introduce you to at least some of the basic concepts you’re asking about.
