Unity 3D Pro+ with cutting edge features for extra money

What you say if Unity ships additional Unity version “Unity3D Pro+” that will contain all cutting edge features like Last Mono…

But you need to pay some money per title or buy external licenses yourself for example: buy Xamarin License…

It’s expensive enough already.

dumb idea.

Besides, its not that is easy technically to do these things, which is why they havn’t been done.

However, if they could release cutting edge versions that were dedicated to say ‘desktop pc only’, It would be easier to achieve im sure, but they wont do that.

No. Unity Pro should be Unity Pro.

Exactly what features would these be, and if they were to put resources into them why would they want to restrict them to a small subset of users instead of using them to encourage more people to buy Pro?

Also, you can already get a source license if you’re big enough to afford it, which would kind of vaguely fit this in that you could do what you wanted without worrying about compatibility for platforms that don’t interest you.

Its not like theyre withholding new mono/.NET versions for no reason. If they could be easily implemented we wouldve already had them. The only reason I could see a more expensive version would be justified would be with more access to Unitys deeper levels. But thats basically already possible as already said in the thread.

I’m pretty sure they already offer something like this in the very rare Unity source licensing.

Well, that’s just the source code, there aren’t any special features I know of. Unity Pro is already the “cutting edge features for extra money” license, so no, there’s no point to this idea.
