Unity 3d UI itself having technical problem

Hello, I’m running a Windows 7 machine and Unity recently started doing something interesting. I don’t know when it started, I stopped using Unity for a month and when I loaded it again, it is apparently having trouble doing runtime updates of the windows. For example, the game window after using alt-tab will sometimes keep the web browser’s activities displayed. Anytime I make a change under the Inspector, Hierarchy, and Assets window, I have to click the tab at the top to have the window register the change. It is not that the change isn’t being made, it is simply that the windows are not automatically refreshing themselves.

Has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I have attached a screenshot. You can see clearly that the Assets window shows a piece of my Firefox browser and the menu bar at the top of unity is still displaying Firefox.

I am using an Nvidia 555m - nothing fancy - laptop processor. However, this problem wasn’t occurring when I first installed Unity, so I don’t believe the card itself is having trouble.

3.5.5 has just been released. Just uninstall what you have and install the latest version.

Trying to ‘fix’ an issue like that id usually not going to happen.

What is the issue? Why can’t the user interface work properly on my computer. I’m not a much of an expert on debugging graphics problems like failure for the UI of a program to update. I just downloaded Unity 4 and it’s still having this problem. I’m on a 555m and I just updated my drivers like two weeks ago. Granted I don’t have the best computer, but it’s just a user interface. It’s extremely frustrating to try to work with a bunch of distorting frames.

That is a very strange error you have.
I seriously doubt it has anything to do with your GPU, as I also have a Nvidia GT 555M.

Though this would be a bit of a hassle, it might be worth doing a fresh Windows install to see if it fixes your problem.
