Unity 4.2.1 dmg for mac corrupted

Hi all.

I downloaded the latest update for Mac OS X Unity 4.2.1 but the dmg file will not open. I get an error saying the file is corrupted “is an invalid checksum”. I am running OS X 10.8.5.

Anyone else getting this issue?

I’ve seen someone post that before, but most people can download it fine, so you’ll need to try downloading it again.

When you open a dmg on OSX, it runs an integrity check (the ‘checksum’ here) to verify that the download is not corrupted and hasn’t been tampered with. If that fails then it means the file is damaged in some way.

As Eric5h5 said, downloading again should fix this.

Can you compare with:

graham$ md5 unity-4.2.1.dmg
MD5 (unity-4.2.1.dmg) = dbe62996e43bb72fa64a74905c98af5f
graham$ ls -l unity-4.2.1.dmg
-rw-r–r–@ 1 graham staff 1280609610 2 Sep 08:42 unity-4.2.1.dmg

Tried 3 times 2 with chrome and 1 with safari and always it’s not possible to open the file.

Impossible to open
unity-4.2.1.dmg not recognized

What I can do ?

If you get the exact same MD5 hash and file length that I posted above, then something odd is happening. If you get a different md5 hash or file length, then something has gone wrong with the download. Clear your browser cache and try again.
