Unity 4.2 compatibility issues with Windows 8.1 pro?

Hi,

I was using Unity3d 4.2 on Windows 8, my program worked fine. A few days ago I update my system to Windows 8.1, problems occurs…

Here is my scenario. I have an Unity animation scene, at some point, the animation will call a local executable file (developed in Visual Studio 2008 ) and constantly listen to console output of the executable. My current problem is: after the executable gets started by the animation program, a “File Not Found” message box pops out from the executable UI (I did check if there’s such warning message in executable solution, but I found none, so I suspect it’s Unity’s issue.), and the executable runs very strangely with some automatic detection features not working. However, the executable works fine if I start it directly from directory.

Any ideas? I am not even sure if it’s because of Windows, but as my programs works fine on Windows 8, I suspect so.

Another piece of information about my Unity setup, it runs in PC, Mac&Linux Standalone as shown in UI title. I am not sure it this would be related to the issues.

Thanks,

I’m also having a lot of issues…

Many times after having Unity minimized for a few minutes it’s unresponsive when I come back.

A couple of times it has just closed by itself

The asset store is worse than ever and makes Unity completely crash half the time
