Unity 4.3 Blendshapes?

Hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone had any information about the blendshape support in 4.3. I’m at the point where i need to choose between blendshape and bone facial animation. I planned to do this with megafiers, but it’s not working out as i thouth it would.

Also there’s the question if Unity will allow to set individual blendshape channel’s values from code…

The biggest thing you should think about is your schedule, tbh. It doesn’t really matter what 4.3 supports if you need to make a decision and move on now, because it’s not available and has no announced release date yet.

If you can put off the decision until later, then you should do…

Is there anything I can help with, what is it that is not working out for you?

well the morphing itself works fine, but when i had too many morphing channels on my character, the editor started lagging a lot, i tried this with Daz character with all head morphs + few others, my goal is to have every head control for facial animation + about 20-30 others while it doesnt slow down unity editor. Btw my PC is fast enough, i7 with amd 7970m.

Turn off shadows and use only one light. Don’t animate the face all the time.
