Unity 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 upgrading errors

I have many problems since Unity 5.x
The first and most important:

I cannot upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1. Everytime I want to upgrade Unity crashes if it comes to Compile the scripts. I cant find a reason in the Editor.txt… but at the end is something like this:

I dont know what to do know. I always make a backup and copy it and test out. But everything goes wrong since 5.1
I also tested the 32 bit Version - the only difference is that he opens the Bug reporter. In 64 bit it crashes immediately…

The next problem is about the Shadows… Shadows worked very well in 4.x but since 5.x they only work in OpenGL mode. I have a DX9 Graphics card and I installed the full package of DX9 so far… I dont know how to fix this too…

If your project is corrupted the easiest fix is to create a new project in the new version of Unity. Then manually import either all objects or one by one via the Project Panel. If there is anything broken or incompatible you at least can see which assets are causing problems. Most of the time though it just works when importing the assets into a new project.

You could also just delete the Library folder and .sln .csproj etc. files and only keep Assets and ProjectSettings folder. Then reopen the project. Sometimes this helps as well.

I add a lot of problems upgrading from 4.6 to 5.0 (lightning broken, many errors…).
And I also got problem with 3rd parties drivers from 5.0 to 5.11 (Leap Motion & OVR stuff).
I recommend to check if any 3rd party asset has a newer version if you use any.
Did you try reinstalling Unity 5.1.1 ?
