I have developed several short games in the past with versions 4.xx and now I downloaded ver. 5.0 but I have so many errors or incompatibility problems that it’s not worth it to "repair " each. my questions is this:
Can I have the two versions simultaneously in two different disc drives but within the same PC? I tried this but everytime I open a scene from my 4.xx developed disc partition it asks ? Should I update this?
You don’t need it to be in two different disc drives, you can just install it to a different directory. Instead of replacing the existing “Unity” folder in your Program Files just tell it to make a new folder for “Unity 5”. I have 5.02 and 4.3.4 installed on my computer right now and I’m switching back and forth with no problems. You may have to set the default program to what you want again, because clicking on a scene file may open the wrong version of Unity (and other similar situations).
Hope this helps!
