Unity 5.1.1f1 64 bits crashes as soon as I open it

I just downloaded the program for the 1st time, installed it, and everything seemed to have worked fine, but when I launched it, it inmediatly crashed and that kept happening over and over. It was the typical message “Unity Editor has stopped working.” I can’t get past that and I don’t know what could be wrong. I have Windows 7 64-bits.

Thank you!

try reinstalling it. if not work then u might have to install .Net framework or c++ visual studio software then install unity.

Ok I went with version 5.0.3f2 and it works. Maybe it’s some particular compatibilty issue?

Version 5.1.0f3 however, does not work either. So the problem starts from that version on.

Thanks for your help.

I have re-installed version 5.0.2f1, and it works fine.

I can confirm that 5.1.1f1 will not work on my PC, but 5.0.2f1 will.

  1. use 5.0.xx
  2. use old nvdia drivers.

Was able to solve this problem yesterday. It’s not what I expected… do a FULL windows update, and install every minor patch that is available. I did this, along with updating my GFX drivers, and everything worked perfectly. Hope this helps!
