Unity 5.2 target Windows 10 Universal -> Visual Studio 2015: Missing Symbol UnityEngine

Problem:
Missing Symbol UnityEngine

Situation:
Windows 10
Visual Studio 2015 Version 14.0.23107.0 D14REL
Unity 5.2.0f3 with Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Unity 2.1.0.0 enabled
UnityVS folder deleted

Can occur after:
Importing asset
Switching build target
Building project

Workaround:
Close Unity and Visual Studio
Delete all VS generated stuff (.vs folder, *.sln, .csproj, project..json)

:frowning:
no one else has this?

You have to more specific about your problem, is it an error somewhere, or you just need UnityEngine symbols for your own needs?

Hi, sorry, i think i misunderstand what symbols mean.
In Visual Studio, opened on a script that references Unity, all Unity references are in red e.g. MonoBehaviour. When I hover my mouse over UnityEngine the hover message is “Cannot resolve symbol ‘UnityEngine’”.

Then I have to close unity and visual studio, delete all the vs files in my project, load up unity and vs and its all good again.
Until I change the project in unity that effects the vs solution (e.g. changing the build target).

I thought it might be a cache issue with Resharper (Visual Studio plugin) but deleting the cache and reopening the project makes no difference unless I delete the vs generated files (.vs folder, *.sln, .csproj, project.json).

Looks like those without Resharper just have Intellisense not work.

I missed the last step to make the workaround a solution.
Close Visual Studio and Unity
Delete folders Temp, .vs and files *.sln, .csproj, project.json
Uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Tools for Unity
Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Tools for Unity

Open up Unity and load your scripts
