Hi there,
I’m using Ubuntu 16.04 as the title suggest and the problem is after I download the 5.3.4f1.deb and double clicked it send me to the Ubuntu Software but after I click Install nothing happens. I’ll try with unity 5.4.0b here but I don’t now…
works for us, run this on the terminal: sudo dpkg -i pathtoyourfile/unity-editor-5.3.4f1+20160503_amd64.deb
This is a known bug on Ubuntu Software itself: Can't Install Third-Party Apps on Ubuntu 16.04? You're Not Alone - OMG! Ubuntu
The command line installation is the best workaround so far

Thank you guys, problem solve. The staff can close the thread now.
Yeah, Canonical didn’t seem to think it all the way through with 16.04. I installed on day one and reinstalled 14.04 a week later. Too many bugs for me!
