excited to try the new version of Unity.
Unfortunately, baking my scene again (which was ok with 5.2) with the same parameters leads to have a system warning (lack of memory).
The bake seems to loop with the same messages in the editor : “failed to process external job”.
my work station has 23 Gb Ram, 8 Gb virtual memory, 64 Gb Cache Disk.
GI : bake only, no realtime
Ambient source : skybox
Baked Res : 20
Texel : 0.1

Hi
Can you, please, provide test scene that exhibits the behaviour. Also it is always good to report such things as bugs, using ‘Help > Report a Bug…’ menu (more about bug reporting: Unity QA: Building quality with passion). And provide the bug # here as well - it will be sent to your email.
Thanks…
I am also seeing the same behavior, though for me it has to do with Final Gather.
“Failed executing external process for final gather job”
I have a fairly complex scene, so I’m not entirely sure which component(s) are causing the issue but disabling Final Gather allows the baking process to at least complete. I will try to generate a test scene that can duplicate the issue, as soon as I determine how to duplicate it…
I’ve tried baking your project both with 5.2 and 5.3 and Bake Visibility stage spiked memory usage to over 20gigs, but my machine handled it due to having it 32 gigs.
@ntrusov is on it right now as his machine has only 16 gigs to see if Unity/Enlighten handle nicely lower memory amount.
Can’t help much here. The scene bakes OK on OSX with 16GB RAM. Sadly the only Windows machine available to me is 8GB RAM and the bake fails there for both 5.2 and 5.3. Overall the issue looks to be in Geometrics code. But we’re still investigating.
Short-term solution would be to increase amount of RAM or switch to OSX, if possible. Or update/rearrange the scene or bake settings so it’ll consume less resources.
Long-term - Geometrics MIGHT address it OR we MIGHT replace Enlighten bake mechanism with our own. But neither is certain and should not be relied upon.
