Unity 5.3 UI Dropdown and Timescale 0 issue

Hey everyone!

Been looking for an answer to this but no such luck, found a couple hints that did not work

Background on what I’m doing:

Currently making a pause menu. When the pause menu is opened Time.timeScale is set to 0f;

in the menu I have my options screen with a couple dropdown UI elements for changing various display settings.

The Issue:
When you pause the game and go into the options screen it works fine, select the dropdown and select your value. However I have a checkbox under the dropdown. When the drop down is opened up once to show the values and then closed, it doesn’t close properly. There is a field left behind (assuming from some kind of animation) which blocks me from selecting the option below or even any other value in the dropdown again.

See Image below for clarification

Thanks in advance!

I know we have a fix for the Timescale being 0 where we are going to use the unscaled time when doing the dropdown animation but not sure when it will be public.

There really wasn’t a question anywhere in your post so i’m guessing you are looking for what could cause this? Really i dont know what you’ve tried to fix it so dont really know what to suggest.

My apologies. I’m looking for some way to get around this issue. But if there is going to be a fix for this I’m assuming it will be coming public soon!

Question being how can I fix this. I shall put it on the back burner for now and return when the fix is released! Thanks!

Yea as for a work around right now i dont know of anything.

The definition of “soon” is a little bit longer then normal due to the holidays but we will do our best.

Hey the fix is in the next patch due soon.

Awesome, thanks Karl for the follow up! :slight_smile: It’s appreciated!

Fix should be in 5.3.1.
