Unity 5.5 and recycle bin

Hi,

An old bug appears to have returned again in Unity 5.5 for Windows. Usually when you deleted something in project view, it would go to the recycle bin (verified with Unity 5.4.4p2). But as of Unity 5.5.1p3, when you delete something it’s just gone forever. Unity 5.6.0b7 also exhibits this behaviour. Does anyone know if this is a genuine bug or is there some new option somewhere that I have missed?

Eng: Is an old bug and i can’t believe this kind of critical bug in Unity 2016 - 2017.
Esp: Es un viejo error y es increible ver este tipo de HORROR de bug en Unity 2016 - 2017.

Yes, it was an old bug. It got fixed, but then it got reintroduced in Unity 5.5. I have already submitted a bug report but it has not had a response from their QA yet :frowning:

Still experiencing this bug…in 5.6.0f3 - I just lost some critical files because of this…I wonder how much money Unity is paying out in settlements due to their shoddy programmers.

How can this bug still be a thing? How is it possible to “reintroduce” a bug, I program and never experience this sort of thing, it is not possible with clean and organized code/program structure!

UPDATE: This bug is happening at the same time as another bug - where clicking on the material where the project folder should highlight where it is in the assets - it fails and doesn’t highlight it, no response…how can I get two bugs like this out of the blue after downloading a file from the asset store…I am not bothered to report this sort of stuff anymore, as all trouble and no reward. All at my expense.

This recycle bin bug has apparently been fixed in 2017.1. I have not tested this myself since I am still on Unity 5.6. I hope they introduce this fix in earlier versions for those of us who cannot upgrade…
