Unity 5.5. Epic Fail Release Sorry but it's TOO BUGGIE

Dear Unity,

i just have to say this, the Version 5.5 is just incredible BUGGIE CRAP!!!

I just wasted 2 hours downloading and installing it,
then I wasted 30min fixing the compiling issue related with Google Play Service
then I wasted more than 90 min until my 5.4 project got upgraded to 5.5

then I realise oh shit all lightning scenes are dark another bug, okay I could live with this and then I REALISED WHEN I CLICK PLAY UNITY SHUT DOWNS WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATIONS; WITHOUT ANY ERROR MESSAGE, ALL OVER AND OVER AGAIN (yes I restarted, cleared cache etc, I did anything I could do) looooooooooooooooooooooooooool my 2000h precious baby project not runnable

If this didnt cost that much time I could laugh now. . .

Going back to 5.4 and big WARNING FOR OTHERS, DO NOT INSTALL NOW!

Dont understand me wrong, I admire Unity what they did and made with the Game Engine but this release is just sh!t, you should keep testing MUCH MUCH MORE,

I absolutely dont understand why you harass, I dont think there is any competitior now or probably not even in the next years . . .

Frustrating and now another 2 hours waiting time until 5.4 is downloaded and installed

I know you’re frustrated, but please make a bug thread so we know what to avoid. So far I’ve been having positive experiences with the latest release.

Well you failed say which platform you installed on, for me macOS no unexpected shutdowns

Dark lights? you cleared cache…did you except to click one button and all should be equal? There are shader changes + maybe you need to generate ligthsmap again? I do embrace shader improvements. I had to redo all my custom shaders when i whent from 4.6 to 5.2. Was it worth it? Heck yes…I didn’t go on the forum and flame.

I would go so far as too say, without a specific bug report that this thread is for flaming. Don’t know how I feel about that.

Can we get more details surrounding the crash, or is this what this thread is going to be?

@MrEsquire you must have been one of those bullies at school or you obviously didn’t play the game. Schoolgirl Supervisor is by far the most instructive game ever even for kids though its PEGI18

@Ifonmax are you guys actually reading what I wrote? It’s not about light-baking. It is not about caching. Unity simply shut downs immediately. I dont think you can make a BugReport unless I plan to upload 10 GByte of SourceFiles

Other uses have IDENTICAL ISSUES. These Problems I can 100% confirm

This is my last post. My time is too precious.
I am back at Unity 5.4. Have fun with 5.5 if you think it’s awesome. I was here to warn other people that they don’t step into the same mistake like me and wasting lot’s of their time.

5.5 works probably better if you begin a project with it, instead of importing a project started with an earlier version.
