In unity 5.4 I have made a game which uses a 20 minute audio piece consisting of a set of 600 vocalised words. Using an AAC setting of 60% it compresses the original audio down to 4MB. Which is perfect and the game runs very well in a browser. http://www.kaiskool.com/XMASLETTERS
I have just changed to a Unity 5.5 subscription. ALL audio in the game for WebGL seems locked at 44 Hz and the compression is ridiculously bad. The same file above with the same settings is 34MBs! Also the drop down menu that used to allow me to optimise sample rates or keep sample rate has disappeared. My 21MB game above is now 48MB ?!?!
I know this might be a fairly niche problem but can anyone help me get my audio back to Unity 5.4 compression methods.
I’m making a lot of web games lately so this really is annoying. Am I missing something obvious?
Unity 5.4 no problem.
Unity 5.5 all audio is huge and there is no way to make it smaller.
Thanks in advance.
