Unity 5 crashing and corrupting scenes!

Anyone else having problems with unity 5 crashing all the time and corrupting scenes?

I did not encounter such a behaviour with the latest version, but with previous versions where we had it we implemented an auto-save mechanism so we don’t lose all of our work, check it out here: Loading...

thanks but saving is not an issue, I save in time the problem comes when unity crashes then does not allow me to re-open my scene regardless of when I saved

do you have a stack from the time of crash? are on you windows or mac ?

I have been messing around with occlusion culling, that seems to be the issues of my crashes, it corrupts my scenes after baking

I once had a scene corrupted from crashing while baking. I found 2 things that brought it back for me.

  1. Went into the folder and deleted the baked image files from the desktop.
  2. opened Unity with a new project/scene, reset the layout to the default layout (closes any extra windows I had opened)
    When I quit and re-opened Unity, i was allowed to open my corrupted Unity scene which i would then create a new save for right away.
    It only happened to me twice, but that did it for me both times.

Thanks I will give it a try, luckily i keep scene back-ups so was able to recover with minimal loses, I just posted here to see what the cause of the issue was and how to prevent in future,
