Unity 5 free: includes pro version features indefinitely?

Hi,
I am just starting with Unity 5 and have dabbled with Unity 4 before. I noticed there are some pro version features in Unity 5, previously inaccessible in Unity 4 free . like i.e static batching, stripping etc.

Is this a Unity 5 launch promo thing, which will be locked again in the near future, or are these here to stay?
sorry if this was asked before or is listed loud and clear somewhere else, but I am on mobile roaming these days and searching the internet will kill my wallet-

Welcome to the forum!

There are not some pro features that are now available in the free version of Unity 5, but all!
I certainly can’t speak for Unity, but I am almost certain that it will stay like that during the Unity 5 release cycle.

Actually the Personal edition has one feature more than the Pro edition. The Unity splash screen!

It’s never been advertised as a launch promo thing. Which isn’t quite the same as saying for sure it isn’t, but I see no reason to think that it’s a launch promo thing.

Nope, that’s in Pro. (But you don’t have to use it.)

fantastic! (and somehow suspicious ;-)).

Well, if you read the fine print, you may notice that you’re required to give your firstborn to Unity, which they put to work in QA. But your firstborn was just going to grow up and start talking back and borrowing your car and stuff anyway, so it’s all good.

But I had to give my kids to EA already when I bought Battlefield BC2.
