I just installed unity 5 free version and I am not able to start it. Everytime I try to start it, it gives me this error. I have added error in screenshot. I am running unity on administrator mode.
It appears that your license file is having an issue. I’d recommend deleting it and allowing Unity to create you a new one:
1.Delete this file:
- Windows: C: ProgramData/Unity
- Mac: Library/Application Support/Unity
- Restart
You may need to reactivate, but you can reset your activations via your webstore account:

I have windows 8. i fixed the issue by deleting unity folder from programdata and roaming data. To go those those folder type following two commands in run
- %ProgramData%
- %AppData%
worked for me, thanks Ben Stoneman
