Unity 5 Installation Question

Hi there, I’ve recently upgraded from Unity 4 to 5 and after installation and before use I am required to log in. After entering a valid login I get “Service not available, please try again later”. This is the first step before proceeding to the licensing step.

I’m pretty new to Unity and am not sure if I’ve done something incorrect. Is it common for Unity to have outages like this or am I doing something wrong? I’m just trying to rule out this happens from time to time with a Unity install(especially since it’s a new version) and not me being a bone head, which sadly is fairly common.

Thanks for any help offered.

Edit : I’ve deleted the latest version and tried downloading and installing version 5.0 and recieved the following “There was a problem communicating with the license server. Would you like to do a manual activation instead?”. I turned off my firewall and still received the same message.

Does anyone know if there is a issue with the license server or is the issue on my end?

Hope you didn’t delete the installer for the newest version. I’d re-install that, try again, and contact the support email address if you have issues again. It could be on either end. Are you perhaps behind a proxy or an oddly configured router or something?

If so, I’d go for that manual activation.

That support e-mail is support@unity.com if you’re still having start-up issues.
