Hello, I was going to get a book that teaches me Unity 4, but then i heard about unity 5. I was wondering if it would be worth it to wait and get a Unity 5 book or get Unity 4 book. I was also worried that scripting with C# Would change in Unity 5 and if i got a unity 4 book and went to unity 5, my scripts would not work, Thanks!
As a person who has used both unity 4 and unity 5 I can say you are pretty safe. There might be changes but they are small.
unity 5 will actually fix older script differences for you in some cases, found that pretty cool.
So, I would say get your unity4 book and dig in. Also, unity5 will take a while… unity4.6 took at least 5 months (it was in beta when I started using it in july… and it just got released) … Might as well get started today

Ok thanks!
I second what wkarma said: jump right in with either, work through some Youtube tutorials, and pretty much 100% of what you learn will be useful with Unity5.
