I don’t know about UT5 as i’m not a Pro use, i was just wandering will the terrain be as flexible as UE4 where you can create any multi layer shaders and paint the material you want on terrain ?
No in 5.0 maybe later but noone know about it unity released publicly release note so you could read by yourself about improvements

Except that unity integrate speed tree
Well speedTree is just a tree plugin , not terrain and vegetation features.
It has been some thread bout Unity people asking what we would like in terrain features, i guess this was for a future terrain system.
I just hope UT will do as UE4 materials for terrain , i mean you make any multi layered material like you want and juts paint layers on the terrain.
