Unity 6 VR template Error

Hi all,

I am using unity 6 and the VR template created a project, as I run the demo scene, then it shows me an error: “Failed to load openxr runtime loader”

System:mac book pro, intel version, Sonoma version 14.6.1
Unity version: unity 6, version 6000.0.26f1

I didn’t installed anything in this project, so I am pretty sure it should be a bug… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The reason is you can’t use OpenXR on a Mac.

MacOSx playmode is not supported unless you are running Meta OpenXR simulator. However, the development team will introduce more clear messaging to point users towards using Meta OpenXR Simulator when on MacOS.

Is there an alternative way then to simulate VR on macOS? I want to test out some VR rendering for a client but I do not have a VR headset so would like to use a simulator.

You should be using Meta OpenXR Simulator Meta Developers if you do not have a VR headset.
