Unity ads and other

Hi,I’ve already add unity ads to my game but could I add extra ads for example with appbrain?
I started to watch it but how can I add the banner and so on?

Thanks Simone9725

I have no experience with mixing and matching ad services. As these are all software packages, it is possible that you could get these to work together. It is also possible that they may conflict.

Don’t forget that this entire process is a learning process and that our first games might not make any money.

To make money with advertising, you need to have a lot of downloads and a lot of views. To do that you need to have a game that attracts a lot of people. If you’re finding that this game is not attracting a lot of attention, you may find it a better investment of time to take the lessons learned on this game and apply these lessons and your time to a new project.

There are a couple of hard truths about game development.

  • Game development is fun and relatively easy, but… Successful monetised game development is hard. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of time. >99% of the money in games is made by 1% of the developers. This means 99% of the game developers are sharing <1% of the return, and it’s in a cascading waterfall of returns on investment, with the vast majority at the bottom making nothing. (This is pretty much true for all the creative arts - film, drama, writing, painting, acting, photography, mimes, magicians…)

  • Many games are quick, simple and easy to put together in a few hours or days, especially with Unity, but… Game development as a field of art, craft and business is very complex. Most successful games are made from teams of people with diverse talents. As an individual, it can take several, if not many, years of working with games and learning the software and understanding the business before one is really proficient in making games. And even then, we’ll find we are only really good at one part of the process. Coder-art and Artist-code are labels nearly everyone understands in the industry.

When you’re first starting out, you should simply be making games for yourself. Don’t worry about the money that comes in. If you want to make games, but you need money, you should join a development company as an employee. Then keep making your own games on the side. Keep going. Never give up on game dev, but if you’ve learned all you can learn from a game, it might be time to move on to the next one.
