Unity Ads Dashboard confusion

Hi all,

I’ve setup a game with two platforms (iOS and Android) but somehow got led to creating it in what appears to be the ‘older’ portal.

Unity Ads support mentioned to me that they are busy migrating the old data over to the new system at the moment.

I couldn’t seem to add monetization for my ads project on the ‘new’ dashboard, so I ended up doing this on the ‘old’ dashboard, and got things working.

I’ve now submitted my binaries to Apple for review now, and I’ve used the asset store Unity Ads package and hooked up the Ads ID from the project I created for iOS on the ‘old’ dashboard (as per below).

Should I be worried that I’m using an ‘old’ setup and that my ads project might not get migrated over?

For reference:

My ‘old’ dashboard view (I’m using the iOS Ads Game ID listed here in my game I’ve submitted to Apple):

My ‘new’ dashboard view (I’m not using the Game IDs from here in my game):

Lastly, I could not get any ‘real’ ads to display in my game testing using my distribution signed release binary I submitted to Apple.

I understand I need to set up my iTunes App URL against my Unity Ads project at some point before Apple approve the app and auto-release it? Is this correct? When will my iTunes App URL be live for me to add into the Unity Ads project? Once I’ve done this, do ads automatically appear in my app? (All I got on my device testing was a 7 or 8 second long Unity Test Ad Video each time I tested).

EDIT

I see now that I can ‘Force Test mode OFF’ in the monetization settings of the ‘old’ dashboard under ‘AD TEST MODE’. I guess once I have my iTunes App URL linked up I can set this to Force Test mode OFF on all devices to be sure!

Answered by Unity Ads support separately -

Basically, they’ll migrate any projects over from the ‘old’ dashboard to the new system automatically, so no need to worry about this.

I’m going to start a separate thread asking about when to turn ads on in the release of a game lifecycle…

And what about the money on one panel and the other? I got a few dollars on old panel and 0 in the new dashboard…

Do we need to change the Game IDs to new dashboard and resubmit it again?

Same issue here with the earnings, in old dashboard we had a decent amount of earnings but new is showing 0$. Also from “old” dashboard we were able to download the reports for a game separately but in new dashboard the option is gone! We need the report option, as we NEED the date for the games separately!!!

I’m with the problem of the money too, and there is no reports in this new dashboard. Do you have an estimated date to normalize the system?

This is actually little strange, because this is not a minor issue we are talking about here and no answers from unity ads (also no respond from the unity ads support), this is a shame.

The same problem. Maybe problem with Unityads version? In version 5.2.2p1 i can see this improvement: Unity Ads: Update to Unity Ads 1.5.3. We have an old version, and ads works fine in our game. But dashboard statistic is still empty.

Yeah, I’m still seeing the same confusion. I still login to the ‘old’ dashboard and all my earnings for my game appears in there. The new dashboard is like a deserted island - nothing going on there, but I assume that is because my published to app store game is using the Unity Ads game IDs listed in the ‘old’ dashboard and not the new.

I don’t think its anything to be majorly concerned about, as long as Unity keep all the old dashboard game IDs going. Going forward, I think its best you integrate with the editor services tab and use the new dashboard’s game IDs for your games then.

Really frustrating. When I add users to my organisation and they go to Unity Ads. They can ONLY get the new dashboard. The game I want them to use is in the old dashboard. Shoganator got an answer from support saying migration to new dashboard in September 2015. It’s now July 2016. I’m going to have to tell my 3rd party developer to not use Unity Ads because I can’t add them to our account.
